Georgia is the cradle of wine. Wine in Georgia is a tradition of place and of people. Through the ages and through invasions and oppression the people persevered through wine. The vine (there are over 500 indigenous grape types) is the symbol of both country and people and grape motifs are everywhere. What makes Georgia so fascinating is that their own style wine making has survived.
